Written on December 7th, 2009 by adminno shouts

toysruslineRetailer Toys R Us stocked up on this year’s most popular Christmas toy, Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters, but it wasn’t enough for the hundreds of parents lined up on Black Friday.

Line ups began at 5am, with the first 100 people in line at each store given a ticket for a chance to purchase a Zhu Zhu Pet at a limit of one per household.  Within an hour, Zhu Zhu Pets were sold out at nearly all locations.

Retailers are expecting additional shipments within the weeks before Christmas, but parents not wishing to stand in line for this season’s hottest toy list topper can find hamsters and accessories available from online retailers such as Ebay.com and Amazon.com

Good Guide Issues Correction About Chemical Levels

Written on December 7th, 2009 by adminno shouts

SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(December 7, 2009) – In a press release we issued on Saturday, December 5th, we published the results of our testing of chemical levels in toys and stated that certain toys we tested had antimony and chromium levels that exceed federal standards. Since issuing our release, we have learned that the testing methodology used in the federal standards (a soluble method) is different than the methodology we used in our testing (a surface-based method). Accordingly, while we accurately reported the chemical levels in the toys that we measured using our testing method, we should not have compared our results to federal standards. We regret this error.
